Albemarle and Northeast North Carolina

Elizabeth City and the Albemarle-area counties of Northeast North Carolina, south of the Virginia line and inland of the Outer Banks.

Every profile below is individually sourced and dated, not a complete census of everyone working in the area — see how we source and verify listings or suggest a correction.

Localities in this region

Pasquotank County (Elizabeth City), Perquimans County (Hertford), Chowan County (Edenton), Camden County (South Mills), the Currituck County mainland (Moyock), Bertie County (Windsor), Tyrrell County (Columbia), and the Hyde County mainland (Swan Quarter) are all published — this region cleared its publication gate with the Elizabeth City depth batch and has continued to grow since. Gates County and Washington County were researched with no credible leads found; Dare County spans this region and others and has not yet been researched. Virginia's tattoo-licensing and arts-organization terminology is never assumed to carry over to North Carolina — see how we source claims.
